"A keratin treatment smooths the hair but doesn’t straighten it," Hampton explains. "It’s more of a semi-permanent option to help reduce frizz and even loosen or smooth curls." Keratin treatments are semi-permanent straightening treatments that remove existing waves and curls, give the hair a glossy shine, and eliminate frizz for a sleek, flat-iron finish.
