The Switch Pro Controller is a DirectInput controller, so it is not supported on games that use the XInput API unless XInput wrappers like Steam Input are used. The easiest way to connect a Nintendo Switch Pro controller to a PC is to use a wired connection. To do this, you just need to connect the charging cable that came with the controller (or any USB-C cable) to the top of the controller, and then connect the other end to any free USB port on your PC.
I actually had to go into device manager and calibrate it from scratch. Once I did that everything worked fine again. Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers. It shows up as "Pro Controller" Right click > Game Controller Settings > Click Pro Controller to highlight it > Properties > Settings tab > Calibrate.

It's better to use a Xbox Controller on PC. It works natively with Windows. With the DS4 controller (ps4), you need a third-party driver package. And it will not guarantee that your game works fine.
