Lift pump noises. So some people may have noticed I posted a topic asking about a lift pump on my MK3 Mondeo 2.0L Estate. I was told by a garage that it didn't have a lift pump and the loom in the bulkhead needed replacing as it was frayed. Well turns out it does have a lift pump and they were lying so don't know what they charged £600 for and
OR if you simply need to evacuate the existing diesel fuel from the tank for some extraneous reason .. then I WOULD simply use a syphon .. which can be purchased at halfords for a few quid and syphon the fuel out of the tank .. it is a bit awkard to the syphon pipe down the neck of the tank but is dooable . and then when the syphon dont work no Mk3 TDCI fuel tank was removed, Don't know filler tube correct position. My Fuel tank was removed, needed to clean everything for injector rebuild and new fuel pump to be installed. Putting everything back together (had to take my car out of the shop, they did practically nothing for 3weeks So trying to finish everything correctly by my self Easy way to remove the pipes from the fuel pump petrol or sender on the tdci'sDon't remove the other way as you main break the clip! do it this way and you'l Applied an updated Bosch diagnostic tool to ensure programming correct and the immobiliser function ok. Engineer took for a test run worked for a couple of miles and then suffering fuel starvation. Verified all supply lines and electrical connections (not tested). Checked fuel line and lift pump pressure all appeared ok. Thank you for all your inputs, i now have a plan. 1) change fuel filter and check for metal in the filter that may indicate a pump problem. If so change the pump as they are quite cheap at about £35.00. 2) Do a leak off test. The Youtube articles on this indicate its quite straight forward.

The job of a lift pump is to supply low pressure fuel (from the tank) to the injection pump on the engine. Most lift pumps, aftermarket or OEM, provide between 8-to-15 psi worth of supply pressure (aside from the 7.3L, 6.0L and 6.7L Power Stroke engines, which call for 45-to-65 psi). Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2004 130 TDi - Petrol in Diesel Car HELP. HELP Last night my wife bought my car home, Mondeo 2004 130 tdci, says shes has filled it ip and it semed cheaper than usual, she filled it up with Petrol and its a diesel car!

Fuel feed line filter>pump, not blocked. Fuel return line pump>filter, not blocked. Fuel filter is primed and is not blocked. New was installed. Timing ok, no skipped teeth on belt, belt ok. HPFP springs are ok. Cam lobe driving the pump is ok, not cracked or any play. Injectors are getting fuel. Fuel rail has pressure according to ForScan.

jaytc2003. the injector will come out okay with the 21mm injector socket. nothing else is needed for removal. (17mm spanner for the fuel pipes). The injector will be removed complete, although there are 2 sections to the injector you need 2 x 15mm spanners to seperate them and they arent exactly loose!
This fault here can be caused by a fault with the fuel injection pump itself.I have seen the fuel injection pumps act up like this here in the past before needing replaced.I would have the fuel rail pressure tested to see if for sure this is the cause here.I would also have the fault codes checked with a fully compatible scan tool to see what
